Genesis 12:10-20 Abram in Egypt - getting Sarai (abt 65 years old) to lie - God punished Egypt and the Pharoah though Abram lied! - and God prospered Abraham! Genesis 15:6 Then he believed in the LORD; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness. Romans 4:13 For what does the Scripture say? "ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS." James 2:23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS," and he was called the friend of God. Genesis 17:5 “No longer shall your name be called Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. Genesis 17:15Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. Genesis 20:1-18 Abraham and Abimelech - getting Sarah (abt 90 years old) to lie - God called Abraham a 'prophet' though he lied! - and God prospered Abraham! |

RIGHTEOUSNESS is a gift from God. We did not do anything to earn it!
We cannot lose His Righteousness by being bad (the flesh), since it is a GIFT! 2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Hebrew 5:13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. NASB Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. NIV - if we are not taught the correct teaching about Righteousness according to the Bible (ref Abraham), then we will not know what is God's Righteousness all about! Matthew 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. |
