WHY DO WE GO TO CHURCH? - to Worship God - at least once a week together with fellow believers - to fellowship with fellow believers - exchange Biblical truth After every church service, we should have a heart of gratitude, being reminded of what Jesus had done for us.
- then we go out to all the world to bring the GOOD NEWS ... If you are a married woman with an unbelieving husband ... how do you encourage your husband about church? 1. to show him that you are a holy person, and should not defile yourself? 2. to humble yourself and submit to him as Jesus submitted to the Father? 3. to preach the laws of Dos and Don'ts - which is now the Good News - but of the laws that God gave to Moses 4. to preach Jesus who brought Grace and Truth This is a good one I heard - woman - go home and make passionate love to your husband. He will wonder why, and what is church doing to change the way his wife behave He will most likely encourage his wife to attend more church services, and he may want to discover church himself! If you bring back more laws after church, you are most likely discourage him and give him strong justification why church is bad for you, and for him! The New Covenant in the Bible says "Love is the fulfillment of the Law". We are not able and cannot fulfill the Torahs! If you have not yet been convinced, research the Bible. The laws were given in mountain (1450 BC??), and till Jesus came, no one was able to meet the laws written on stone! Yea, more than 3000 years of history cannot prove the point that man (woman included - that why the Bible says Man and Woman "Adam" in the book of Genesis) with God - there is no good thing (Psalm 139:2) Religious people draws the swords - DOs and Don'ts Spiritual people restores others gently (Galatians 6:1)

1 Peter 3:7 NASB You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. Do you, husbands, pray like this? "Father God, help me to encourage me to bring my wife to know you. Thank you Jesus, amen."? Do you think God hears your prayers? 1. God hears your prayer - all prayers! 2. God is helping you to encourage you to bring your wife to church 3. Are you working with God to encourage your wife to church? By these, you are not working with God when you 1. You do not treat your wife in an understanding way - you make demands of her - you treat your friends, colleagues better when you talk with gentleness, even to the old people in the food courts! - spending time drinking is more important than talking walk with your wife, etc 2. You have not been saying occasionally "I love you" to her since your courtship day 3. "I am sorry" is deemed for weak husband - a loving and caring husband thinks differently 4. You fail to honor for the wonderful work she does at home, bringing up the kids, cooking their meals, ... 5. Treating her as 'not useful' because God has created her to be the weaker sex - saying negatively "Why can't you do anything right at the slightest mistakes" Transforming Marriages for Christ - a marriage course, can help you change the way you think about marriage! |
ARE YOUR A PROFESSOR?
PROFESSING CHRISTIANS 10 I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. 11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler-- not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 1 Cor 5 NASB |
